In 2022, Nyembeni & Mzinga were two orphaned elephants rescued by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. My two daughters sponsored them, giving them food, shelter and medical treatment. They are delightful, boisterous, cheeky elephants that have a heart of gold.
This Percussion Ensemble piece is meant to be performed in the spirit of these young elephants with all the joy and happiness they bring to their keepers and my family.
